Custom Orthopedic Shoes

Custom-made shoes. When extremely severe deformities are present, a custom-made shoe can be constructed from a cast or model of the patient's foot.

Why Custom Footwear?

To summarize, the overall function of an orthopedic custom shoe is to provide accommodation of the various dimensions of the foot, be they are severely narrow, severely wide, or a complex combination of circumstances that produce challenges to a good fit and comfortable function from ready-made shoes. Custom shoes are useful in addressing structural deformities that cause pain or gait anomalies like leg length discrepancies and painful joint motion. Providing a structured, custom innersole provides intimate full contact for healthy alignment of the foot throughout gait.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are specially-made devices designed to support and comfort your feet. We have several different types of orthotics to keep you going all day long!

Why Custom Orthotics?

An orthotic is an insert that fits inside a shoe and is designed to decrease abnormal foot motion, realign the foot, restore balance and eliminate or reduce foot pain. Orthotic devices may be recommended for several reasons, including:

  • aligning and supporting the foot or ankle
  • preventing, correcting, or accommodating foot deformities
  • improving the overall function of the foot or ankle

Since our orthotics are custom-made by hand from scans or casts of your feet, no two pairs of custom orthotics are alike! Your feet each have 26 bones and over 100 muscles. They are among the most complex parts of your body, and they deserve your attention. After all, your feet bear the weight of your entire body. Custom Orthotics requires a prescription from your health care professional. Please contact your insurance teams for any information on coverage.
